I like to chop up bananas, put them in a liquidiser with milk and sugar and it makes a nice drink. It is good for many things.

:sl:

I do not really care for bananas, Nothing special about them as far as taste and texture.

But the Skin of the Banana is really great if you want to get rid of scars and marks on the skin. Just rub it on the skin where the mark is and let it dry. Do it regularly, everytime you eat a banana. Should be gone in no time :)

An old GI trick for putting a fast shine on military boots is to rub them with a freshly peeled banana peel.

I am really fascinated by the many varieties of Bananas available. My favorite are the little red finger bananas from Mexico.

I also like their cousins plaintains. I usually have them baked like a sweet potato and eat them with butter, salt and pepper.

Oooh bananas galore! So why's the Bent Banana not posting on here? :mmokay:

But if you have sugar with bananas then you don't get your B vits, and also about the mosquito thingy, i've read that eating bananas actually attracts mosquitoes to you.. dunno about the peel though lol

JakallahKhair for the info :D

Masha'allah! That shoe shine trick really sounds neat. But later one when it dries dont you see any marks? I would think that white thready stuff stays behind and becomes obvious when dried...

I love plantains also..the Bahamians like them sliced about 1/4" thick and fried in butter. Malaysians coat them with a batter of rice flour and fry till crispy then either dip it with a soy pepper sauce or sugar.

Whilst Banana has it's benefits like any other fruit, I would recommend not eating too many of them. It's common sense really, too much of a good thing can be a bad thing:

Banana's contain potassium, a rapid increase in Banana intake would upset your cardiovascular system (damaging the sodium/potassium ion exchange).

Monkeys and humans bodies don't function the same chemically with regard to how foods are used and metabolised.
