Bird Lover from Northern Germany

[Wood Pigeon]

Hi!
My user name is Wood Pigeon (Columba palumbus), which is my favorite bird. I spend a lot of time, tending to them, and now have 9 in my garden and in the little woods out back. They visit my ground-level balcony's berry-bush pergola, several times a day, to feed, drink, or to meet.
They are big, wild forest pigeons weighing between 500 - 750 gram each.

My hobbies are Ornithology, writing a book, gardening, cooking & baking, household repairs, electrical work, remodeling, plus the challenges of retirement, aging (I'm 67), and getting by with Germany's 'chicken-feed' of a pension.

I would indeed be very happy to hear from you, and enjoy writing a lot.

It is also a pleasure to tend to Allah's feathered creatures. I indeed enjoy the following surahs:

Surah 67 Al-Mulk, Ayat: 19
اَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡا اِلَى الطَّيۡرِ فَوۡقَهُمۡ صٰٓفّٰتٍ وَّيَقۡبِضۡنَؕ ۘ مَا يُمۡسِكُهُنَّ اِلَّا الرَّحۡمٰنُؕ اِنَّهٗ بِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍۢ بَصِيۡرٌ‏

Have they, then, never beheld the birds above them, spreading their wings and drawing them in? None but the Most Gracious upholds them: for, verily, He keeps all things in His sight.

2nd Translation:
Do they not observe the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them in? None can uphold them except (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly it is He that watches over all things.



24:41 Al-Noor — The Light
Seest thou not that it is Allah Whose praises all beings in the heavens and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread? Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise. And Allah knows well all that they do.



16: 79 An-Nahl — The Bee
Do they not look at the birds, held poised in the midst of (the air and) the sky? Nothing holds them up but (the power of) Allah. Verily in this are signs for those who believe.
