This is indeed shameful. It is one thing to have crazy people; it is wholly another to have an entire system in place for covering up their crimes and giving them impunity. But God will prevail.

That entire system is more famously known as "the catholic church", and the church leaders are supposedly to be God's representatives on earth inspired by holy ghost and in communion with god.


 
The Catholic Church has a pretty dark history, supposedly the whole creation of Catholicism is to a degree a mockery of ancient christianity by the introduction of pagan arts and rituals into it, Constantine and the Nicean Council agreed on this. This is why you see pictures of Jesus and abundant worship of the cross and false idols and the devotion of Mary, because they exalt them. However not every Catholic is like this, but many are "lukewarm" so they partake in sins and consider them nothing really (partying, drinking, music). It is sad really.

However the recent pedophilia might be incorperated with the fact that the Church has become lukewarm as well, it allows many people into its denominations who may have ties to cults or such, before the revolutions in Europe the Church was quite strict, now it is lukewarm or it loses its credibility to many people who are "liberal" and do not like the conservative traditions of religions. Of course it really is a double hit for any honest priests, since those who blaspheme against the Church reduce the credibility of the religion as a whole, its similar with the protestent sects of Christianity but there will always be a small pocket full of honest people. Salaam.

I must sadly agree. The "Roman Catholic Church" has degenerated considerably over the centuries since it separated from the Orthodox Catholic Church which Christ founded.
