and welcome to the forum.In Islam, we have only two religious occasions of celebration/congratulation, which is 1st Shawwaal (Eid ul Fitr) and 10th Dhul Hijjah (Eid ul Adha). These are the two occasions we commemorate and celebrate, as these are the the only two instructed for us by the Prophet
. We do not celebrate or commemorate his death or birth, and nor did the sahaabah (may Allah be pleased with them). The best thing is to try to follow the Prophets sunnah as best as we can, and try to avoid all innovations in the deen, as he told us to avoid.فصيح الياسين

We all have our own way of thinking and doing things.
For a muslim every passing day is a day to celebrate and congratulate if he or she is a good muslim.
The world you are living in was created by ALLAH in love of Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W) so if any one congratulates or celebrate this day then what is the harm.
A simple example that in this worldly life when someone gives you any benefit or when someone you love you remember all his or her important things and congratulate him or her and celebrate with him or her, then why not to celebrate for him who will be our biggest benefactor on the day of Qayamah.
Think like a lover not like a sectarian.
I hope anything written wont be an offense.
