Riding on a lonely thought
Snapping in and out of awareness
Reaching for a dream longsought
Obstacles of people cold and careless

Absence of what is not dominates
Thickening the air with its presence
Asking beyond the limit of soul's good traits
Praying for a ray of luminescence

When the body succumbs to darkness
And all it aches for is shimmering hope
What is there left to suppress
With all your emotions hanging from a rope

Lowered to a humble state
Turning to Allah for forgiveness
Begging for a blessed fate
One wonders "what powers do i possess?"

Everything is in the Hands of our Maker
The One we can rely on for all our affairs
Even if my only role in life is being a selfish taker
He is there for me, when no one else cares

My gratitude is greatly inadequate
For the One Who shows me True Love
Arham ar-Rahimeen, He Who never shows me a door shut
Light and Mercy are all over, left, right down and above

When one fails to see the light, blame is on our own soul
For Allah's Light shines all around
The best medicine of all to make the heart whole
Open eyes ensure what the heart once lost, will be found
