British Para Killed

A soldier killed in Afghanistan during a gun battle with suspected Taleban fighters was from 7 Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery.

1 British Para was killed and two seriously injured. The soldier was the first killed in action since UK troops were sent to the southern province in May. Some 3,300 British troops are there as part of a Nato-led peacekeeping force.
