i did and i must say i was abit confused ..i didnt no what to think but i was offended with some of the actions what impression will ppl get of muslims now??
what why when who
what happened?S
salam
lol well basically it was programme about muslim family(not really acting like muslims)and doing outragous things and then swearing on the quran!!!!!! thats what really got me and anyway i didnt watch the first part the ,the second was the worst it made out that muslims are bad and sumit to do with training camps and terrorists.People already have a negative image of islam and after that i dont think that its going to make things better.
I actually enjoyed it. Though, certain scenes were dodgy (random haram acts for example). I only caught the second episode, but I think it was well balanced overall and quite hard-edged. Which makes great t.v
Any particular reason why this is in Refutations? Honest question.
Also, we tend not to discuss television programmes and stuff in here. After all, you wouldn't want Islamic discussions to be drowned out by polls about Family Fortunes, or something.
A lot of people on this thread don't seem to get what this show was really meant to be about but czgibson got it....
On the other hand, one point that was explored excellently was the notion that UK anti-terror legislation is actually making things worse. The injustice of the friend's arrest was made very clear, and it's a situation that I'm sure has happened many times in the UK...
I was really bored when watching it and don't necessarily think the characters were perfect muslims.
But the whole point of it was to show that the war on terror has in fact done more bad than good - and apparently this is what caused the July train bombings
The show got me thinking though. There was one particular scene where a female lead (muslim) was debating with someone that instead of lethal combat... we should protest and/or change how bad things are by becoming a politician. Obviously suicide bombing innocents is haram but can the political path really make a difference?
