Islamic Calligraphy Class
Masjid-E-Quba (Hackney) is planning to hold a special class for those who are interested in Arabic calligraphy but have never had an opportunity to study it. This class will provide the basic hand skills and technique for using the tool of a calligraphy pen/quill. The course will help you learn to write Arabic letters in the traditional artistic way.
Calligraphy is the most venerated form of Islamic art because it provides a link between the languages of Muslims with the language of the Holy Quran.
Arabic or Islamic calligraphy is a traditional form of artistry and skill that not only represents beauty but also spiritual love, power and deep thought. Over time, Arabic Calligraphy has been improvised from classical to the modern ones which is not only a successful representative of faith, but also a breakthrough of calligraphy art in the world. Numerous styles of Arabic script has been developed over the ages each with a variety of expressions and yielding different compositions.
The class will be taught by a local experienced artist who designs canvases with Arabic calligraphy – Bilal Piperdi.
