If a sinner believer is punished in Grave severely, can he or she ask God To lift the punishment? And so, how can he or she do that while the punishment is so severe in such that a person cannot think?

If God will lift the punishment after a sinner believer is in grave, will he no longer be punished in Hereafter? I mean this person will go to Heaven without going to Hell first?

:salam:

Repentance should be done before the death. If a person has already died then his relatives and friends should ask for forgiveness on his behalf. They can do several good deeds and ask Allah :swt: to transfer the rewards to him, commonly known as Eesaale Thawab.

A dead person can also get rewards for any continuous charity that he has left behind. For example, building a Masjid or madrasa, a water well, sponsoring an orphan etc.

Yeah, but if he didn’t ask forgiveness from God nor his relatives and friends asked forgiveness for him, then the spirit is able to ask forgiveness from God even though none of this happened?
