قالت التلفزة الحكومية الصينية إن 300 شخص قتلوا وأصيب نحو ثمانية آلاف في الزلزال الذي ضرب صباح اليوم مقاطعة شنغخاي قرب التبت.

وقد أدى الزلزال الذي بلغت قوته 6.9 درجات على مقياس ريختر كذلك إلى طمر عدد غير محدد من الأشخاص تحت المنازل المنهارة.

وذكرت وكالة أنباء الصين الجديدة أن الزلزال أدى إلى انهيار بعض المدارس وجزء من مبنى إداري حكومي.

وأضافت أن بعض طلاب المدارس حوصروا تحت الأنقاض، فيما استطاع بعضهم الفرار إلى الملاعب.

وتخشى السلطات الصينية أن يكون مئات الأشخاص أصبحوا دون مأوى في طقس شديد البرودة وفي مناطق جبلية وعرة.
