Assalamualaikum Ok, so one of my relatives are conducting marriage for their daughter and the groom's side is demanding a car. It seems that they kept the demand after the engagement. And the bride's side has also accepted the demanded fearing the girl's future.
I know dowry is not permitted in Islam and the groom has no right to make such demands. But my relative is not ready to let us involve in their daughter's marriage matter. It seems they demanded, and my relatives also agreed.
So in this case, should I attend the wedding in which dowry is involved? And if I attend it, will it be like I am supporting such marriages?
