Can someone go into detail of what a Prayer Rug is for?
Also can Prayer Rugs go on Cement, Sand, Grass or dirt? Technically the Ground of the Earth is made by God so there is no reason for a Prayer rug to not go on the Ground of Gods Earth.
Hello Newly joined BlueWingRaptor, welcome to Islam and a platform to ask questions and share your feelings. Which religion do you follow out of interest?
prayer rug is normally kept clean and only used for praying, it is desired for many worshippers to pray on a clean surface or cloth. That is the first choice, well the second choice is pray without a prayer rug, that is acceptable also. One must endeavour to pray on a clean surface and a portable (or otherwise) prayer rug is preferred,
Also... praying on hard surface such as concrete... can be uncomfortable, when you are sitting down, kneeling down or prostrating with your head down to the hard ground can be painful on the person, so prayer rug helps a person focus more on their workship more if they have less discomfort.
having a thick prayer rug just eases the worship that little bit extra. Whenever we pray outdoors we surely do take a prayer mat with us.
Prayer rugs can go on Concrete, Sand, Grass and (dirt if there is no choice, did you mean soil?), as long as the surface you are praying on is clean
