Asalaamu Aleikum,

I am new to Islam, and am definetely going to college (I live in the US), but dont want my colleges to be limited to near where I live in order to live with my parents. I dont think that I should live in a dorm unless absolutely necessary, and even then, there are many problems with this. Any advice?

How about study in a place where you have relatives there?. So, you can live with them.
