I have always taken it as fact that the Quran had been perfectly compiled because noone really challenges that ( from what I have read). But recently the argument that it was not perfectly compiled came up. I would like to know your views on it so that I may confirm my belief that it was a perfect compilation and that nothing was lost or added.

Here are some photos of the Qur'an which was compiled by the companion of Allah's Messenger, Uthman ibn Affaan [the 3rd caliph/khalifah.]

The one compiled by the companion of the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wasalam), Uthman ibn Affan (3rd Khalifah) is in the Museum of Topkapi in Turkey today.

If someone questions why Uthman compiled one, its because he's a companion of the Messenger of Allah. Our religion is dependant upon the companions since they conveyed the religion to the rest of mankind. So we do not doubt Uthman's reliability since he sacrificed his life and wealth for Islam throughout the life of Allah's Messenger, and he would not lie about the revelation.

And Allah knows best.

Holy Quran was compiled during the life of prophet (pbuh) however didn't exist in bookish form. The job was done by the ist caliph (RA). The third caliph (RA) didn't compile it, rather ensured its standardization in proper dialect.

The order in which it was compiled by the prophet (pbuh) is different from the order of revelation as ordered by Allah Almighty.
