i was a convert to islam since 2003 and i converted to the shia, i said ya hussain and i was told i was jinn possed and under shir(Black magic), i said ya hussain because i was at an ashura celebration and i hit my chest(matam hussain) and i felt the jinn leaving, and my shirt moved, so years lated i did it again on my own to see if would come off, i realized what i did and i repented, can i convert to sunni and retake my shahadah?

wa'alaykumussalaam warahmatullah

I am not familiar with Shia practice. I have only heard that most of the things in Shia practice are bi'dah - not according to Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa salaam - yet they claim to follow the Qur'an.

But it is actually mentioned in the Qur'an : Say, "Obey Allah and the Messenger." But if they turn away - then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers. (Ali 'Imran 32)

So if what I heard is true, and you want to stay a muslim, then you do need to say Shahada again. Then from that moment on, you will follow the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa salaam, because if you don't, then you are disobeying him.

O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger, and do not invalidate your deeds (Muhammad 33)

May Allah accept your repentance and guide you to practice Islam properly

ameen.

Brother, i am not expert

Well, once you feel you did some thing wrong just repent form it and donot try to do that again.

in future , just try to ask ALLAH for any help, and not any body else, and try not to divide your self, in quran if ALLAH name us Muslim just say you are Muslim,

i personally also face similar situation where i just say some words which i think now is not good , but then i repent and never say those again and ask ALLAH for forgiveness and help. So that happen, many people mis guide us and we did not even know that at that time but our heart never satisfied with it

Well, the question for you is: have you ever cursed the sahabas willingly? If no, then there is no need to retake the shahada. Because, you retake shahada once you have committed kufr or shirk. This is the only time you have to retake shahada.

And I would like to say that it is not correct grammatically As salam Alaikim it is actually: Assalamu Alaikum.
