Considering the lack of Muslim councillors then you don't have much choice, but don't think of them as the only way around your problem, they're nothing but a means. Turn to Allah swt, nobody can heal you and help you more than Him. After all, no matter how much a councillor will try and understand you, they never can more than the one who created you. He is free to access, day and night. They are limited and costly.
Note: If they are telling you think/feel/do haraam things, then of course don't obey. It's best to tell them you view life with a Muslim lens. Not secular.
