Credit cards haram?

Assalamu alaikum,

I am confused about what sharia says on this. My understanding is that you can't extend loans to others with interest but what about receiving the loan? I have some credit cards/lines of credit. Is it not haram if you pay it each month and are charged no interest?

If a credit card is just used as a means to facililate/administer payment, and not to actually provide credit, I don't see why there would be any issue.
