Death is inevitable
Death comes to all
When death knocks on your door,
Be prepared to answer the call
How quickly my life has passed me by,
Prepare for death, huh! I didn’t even try
Time to leave behind all my loved ones,
Now say goodbye to one & all
I can see the angel of death, my face turns pale,
I request an extra minute, but to no avail
I feel in the background, my family are crying,
“I love you all!” I say even when dying
Hope to see you in Jannah one day,
With my last breath, I quickly say
As my soul departs from my each & every limb,
The pain is soo severe, my vision is falling dim
I could scream a thousand screams,
My tongue feels numb; I know now what death really means
I was told about death by the pious by & by,
All to be ignored, Yeh yeh! Would be my reply
I’m laid on the table ready to be given a bath,
Oh! How once I used to talk, joke & laugh
Even my name is not attached to me anymore,
“The body” as I’m referred to, as my shroud is tore.
I’d insist on wearing only designer, so posh, so proud
But today I’m wrapped in only a plain white shroud
Washed, dressed, performed, ready to meet my lord
PLEASE Allah, I pray for the best abode
I leave you with one last message before I’m buried away,
Prepare yourself for Aakhirah & your Final Day!!!
