Greetings and peace be with you eesa the kiwi;

Thanks for sharing; he did make some good points. How do you go through life without being overwhelmed by its problems? What is the difference between sadness and depression? When we are depressed with life, it is often a sign that we seem to have no control over life's problems.

His advice was to try fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, because it is a way of getting control back in your life. You control when you can eat and what you eat. I did something similar many years ago and gave up smoking when my life was in a mess. I always felt that cigarettes were controlling my life; so being able to take control away from them 38 years ago has had a powerful influence on my life.

He said about continuously giving thanks to Allah in both good times and bad. I spent some time with a homeless man, he carried all his possessions in a couple of bags. He said every night when he finds somewhere to sleep, he reflects on his day and finds several things to thank God for. This was truly a humbling experience for me.

Dr Bilal said that when people are depressed, they stop praying, and praying is part of the healing process, so this is a double negative.

The video was 54 minutes long, so it is a bit of a marathon to watch, but give it a try if you suffer.

Blessings,

Eric
