Please anyone point out the difference between these two statements. Please don't point out the obvious...

'In my life, few things went wrong.'
'In my life, a few things went wrong.'

the first sentence is a a positive note. It is similar to saying. "In my life nearly everything went right"

The second sentence is pessimistic and the emphasis is on the things in your life that have gone wrong.

Wow! that's a lot of difference. This is the common mistake we Indians make and are caught by Americans. :D

Thanks Uncle, for your quick reply. :)
