Assalam o Alaikum,
Can the word فَاغۡفِرۡ لَـنَا faghfirlana
be translated as 'so protect us' in addition to 'so forgive us'
Also according to the context of the Quranic verse in 11:41 where Nuh (AS) is praying to Allah the word ghafoor be translated as 'protector'?
I have not yet come across any English translations of the above verse where it is translated as 'protector'. The point is can someone say about this verse 'Since Nuh (AS) and his companions were already on the ship and the prophets are sinless, hence he was asking for protection and not for forgiveness because of the dangers involved in their journey.' ?
JazaakAllah
