As for the Iraq war, not everyone supported this war. It was not in the US national interest to invade that country. Some claim that the neoconservatives and AIPAC pushed this war because Iraq was some sort of a threat to Israel. At the moment the neocons are not in power.

Excellent post, to add to that, when it comes to foreign policies, 90% of the times shayateen from both parties will have to agree, especially when if the matter is about their Master, Israel[اللهم عجل تدمير القردة والخنازير، والنصر عبادك المسلمين والمجاهدين في كل مكان]. Seriously, if you follow the American politics, any time there are campaigns for Presidential election, the accursed Israel will makes sure that all the candidates, regardless of what party they represent, will submit to all their needs and demands. Any tiny threat or sign from a candidate which shows incapability of sustaining the needs for Israel will result in loosing the election because the U.S. generally loves to support their master like house negroes.

Anyway, I hope that the brothers on here don't think too much about which party is 'less' harsh towards Muslims. At end of the day, they are still slaughtering our Brothers and raping our sisters in Afghanistan, Iraq and many other places where they placed puppet regimes.

The jews and christians will never be satisfied until we leave our Deen completely and follow their way. So I advice myself and others to Fear Allah as much as we can, and ask him to protect us from those who try to compromise the Deen and change it in order to please the Kuffar. I agree with this 100%. Our present "democracy" (which is really a representative Republic and not a democracy) is merely an illusion, and most people are too naive or stupid to realize it. The ones who do realize it are too afraid to do anything about it.

It's actually principally based on the the historical realities of the time in which it was introduced (which I suppose included power and influence, as it always does), but you could argue (and many people have) that it should be changed.

You wonder who's 'power and influence' you mean, though? The results have only differed four times, and only one of those was more recent than 1888, which is perhaps why there has been no great incentive to amend the Constitution - which is like moving a very large rock at the best of times. The benefactors have been Republicans in all three cases after 1824, but actually that tends to suggest lack of bias rather than the opposite as support basis for each party changed enormously between 1888 and 2000.

I would have to disagree with your disagreement. Just to get a little less simplistic, the US is a mixed economy, based on capitalism with large elements of social policy.

As Trumble stated, there are policies within our framework that can be very different. The democrats are definitely more pro-poor/working class when they can, but have to pander to the elites for fundraising and be moderate so the independants lean their way.

Just a side note, there seems to be a lot of big pronouncements on this thread that seem to have very little thought behind them.

There were some politicians that did not vote for the invasion of Iraq. Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama were against the Iraq war. This is because it was not going to benefit America, it made things worse for everyone.

I doubt Bush alone would have pushed for the Iraq war. The neoconservatives were very influential through Dick Cheney and AIPAC played a significant role as well for pushing the Iraq war.
