P.S. Does any1 know abt this uni...http://www.washint.edu/pages/

Do you mean a correspondence Uni-where you study from home???

I am not sure if the Open University operates in Kuwait. It has international students though but is based in the UK.

Here is the link:

I know people who are doing their masters with this university.

An option you may want to look into is to seek a teaching fellowship at a local university. I earned my Masters in that manner. I had to Teach a few hours of undergrad psychology courses a few hours per week, but in exchange I had free tuition, books and an apartment while pursuing my Masters. I also received a sufficient non-taxable stipend as spending money.

I know this open university sister. I have studied their website since long. But they r currently not offering Ma in education courses in Kuwait.
Though I find it difficult tounderstand and have mailed them many times but I receive the same reply that they are not offering education field courses for kwt based students.

WHat I find difficult to understand is that, they have a list of courses for kuwait, which include a lot of courses in education. WHich in turn r suffiiceint for the credits required in Ma. I guess it due to the unavailability of one or two basic courses that they r not offering this programe here.

However, I shall try n email them again.

Thanks

But we have very universities in Kuwait. Kuwait University being the only one offering Masters programe. That too not in education , but only English Literature. So my basic choice is not available here n I have no intentions of travelling.

Sister highway trekker, thanks for the help, shall I send u cv for details to ask them abt it?

It does apply to everybody. The more demand there is for the undergrad subjects you have your bachelors degree in the greater your chance to get a Teaching Fellowship.

You do need to be accepted for the Graduate School in order to be considered for a GTF

The state Schools seem to be the most likely to have openings. Apply at the school of your choice. Overseas degrees are usually accepted. There are a few exceptions. It is difficult for anybody to find any schools that will accept credits from some of the schools in the Bahamas.

Here are the current openings at University of Oregon, I just used this for an example.

Remember applying for a GTF is very much like applying for a job and many benefits are negotiable with the school.

Thanks for the reply, but does it apply to non citizens too? Do they have this same facility as you have explained that citizens have?

What is the GTF? ( -----Teaching Fellowship or omething?)

GTF= Graduate Teaching Fellowship

If you meet the qualifications to be accepted as a Graduate student, you are eligible for a GTF. Most State Schools will give preference to State Residents. However, it is still worth applying for. It is similar to applying for a job. Qualifications are the final determining factor.

Private schools have much less restrictions. In fact the School I did my undergrad work preferred to give GTF's to foreign nationals. Especially in the language departments.
