I have a condition called BPPV and this causes unbalance and vertigo. Last time I woke up from bed and as soon as I lifted my head from the bed I have had the most scariest dizziness...it toke a while to subside but was not a pleasurable experience. I think I have this condition since I was a child and I believe it maybe my left ear. One day I lost 95% hearing on the left ear and I had to go to the doctor to remove ear wax and clean it which helped but the pressure of water made me go dizzy so I asked them to stop. Now I am taking medication for vertigo, Alhamdolillah I do not get dizzy but I have unusual unbalance sometimes and potential dizziness. I cannot sleep on my side and can only sleep on my back now and I have three pillows to lift my head almost in sitting position to sleep. I heard there is an exercise for BPPV that help solve the problem and so I am wondering if anyone have BPPV and did the exercise and to share their experience to me please. I would like to know what you felt during the exercise, did it help immediately, did you see an immediate result and what happened after the exercise when it did not work and you got a worse experience. I just like to hear from people to know the worst and best from this exercise to know what I will be facing if I go through this exercise.

Assalamu Alaikum

I don't have this experience, but I know someone who suffers from vertigo from time to time. There's a maneuver called the Epley maneuver and it is very helpful, but you have to try to remain upright I believe for a few days.

May Allah grant you shifaa.

Edit: I just want to mention that if you do the maneuver it activates the vertigo again and you'll have to wait for it to settle before moving into other steps. So it can be uncomfortable during the process.

Narrated `Abdullah:
I visited Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) while he was suffering from a high fever. I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! You have a high fever." He said, "Yes, I have as much fever as two men of you." I said, "Is it because you will have a double reward?" He said, "Yes, it is so. No Muslim is afflicted with any harm, even if it were the prick of a thorn, but that Allah expiates his sins because of that, as a tree sheds its leaves."
