does the reward differ...?!!

well, there is an important question which crosses my mind most of the time and i guess that many brothers and sisters may think of. i will give you two examples and then judge whether these two people will have the same reward by Allah and they will have the same place in the hereafter.

1- a person who does not do something we can call here " Y" which is haram because he does not like it much, even if this was halal, he would not do it.

2- and a person who does not do this "Y" which is haram though he loves it very much and he finds all the pleasures of the world when doing this thing.

so are these two people equal in the Divine balance? will the person who loves doing " Y" and quits doing it for the sake of Allah will be rewarded as the other one who does not love doing this thing and the fact that it is haram suits him much? By the way, i have to state that these two people do not do this " Y " for the sake of Allah.

How harder the test for a person, how greater the reward Insha'Allah
If you do not believe in Allah, you will not be rewarded for what you do. But if that person does very bad things, like Hitler or Pharao, his punishment is harder in Hell, than the punishment for someone who didn't do much wrong. That's why there are levels in Paradise and Hell.

Well, this is just a thought of mine.

1 and 2, do both not do this "Y", aka haram thing, so both of them are avoiding a bad thing, which itself is rewarding.

But I think that even though 1 doesn't like this haram, and it doesn't give 1 any pleaseure, the main thing is he doesn't do it.
So 2 likes this "Y" and it makes him "happy", yet he doesn't do it.

This is different to everyone. It doesn't matter if you like the haram or not, the point is you don't do it/commit this sin.
But then again, it is much easier for 1 to avoid it because he dislikes it and for 2 it is a harder "test" because he likes this haram or enjoys it.

But a difficulty is for each individual different.
For some is for example, listening to music a very very hard test, then for some it may be so easy. But then for those who found not listening to music very easy, maybe for them it's harder to wake up for fajr.

You see what I'm trying to say? Those were only examples, but my point is it differs from person to person. Yet what is the rewarding is that you don't do/commit this sin/haram.

Well.. I THINK so, but I am not a scholar so... Just my opinion.

well my opinion, i dont know of course if true or not, that when u stop doin sth you love and you adore for the sake of Allah , your reward will be greater. and i reall yneed somene to proof this fact if its true because this encourages me to go against myself 's desires as much as i can. in all cases , i have to do

On the authority of son of Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Messenger of Allah (sal Allaahu alayhi waSalam), among the sayings he related from his Lord (glorified and exalted be He) is that He said:

Allah has written down the good deeds and the bad ones. Then He explained it [by saying that] he who has intended a good deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as from ten good deeds to seven hundred times, or many times over. But if he has intended a bad deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed.

It was related by al-Bukhari and Muslim.

Summary:

intend to do good deed - one full good deed.

intends and does do good deed - 10 - 700 (or many more times over) good deeds.


intend to do bad deed but doesn't do it - one full good deed.

intends to do bad deed and does it - one bad deed.​

i can give 2 examples which clarify things more.

1 sth example, a girl who does hijab though she has a very nice hair , and other girl who does hijab but her hair is think and frizzy.

2 nd example: the young man who has strong sexual desires despite all doesnt commit zina, or the one who had 50 years and doesnt have a wife but yet, he doesnt want to commit adultery.

3- sb who loves watching porn very much ( this person for example unmarried yet) and finds its the best pleasure in life and despite this love, he doesnt watch it b/c its haram. and other who doesnt watch it b/c he doesnt like it or b/c he is already married.

who will have better reward?

i talk bout these three things b/c they are the reasons for all the calamiteies and corruption that our Isalmic Ummah witnesses.

By the hadith qudsi above, its kinda obvious that if the person who does a good deed to please Allaah azawajal, when they can easily fall into the sin may get rewarded more, because their stopping themselves from commiting a sin when they could have easily done it (which means one good deed for them insha'Allaah [God willing])

Whereas, if the other person is only covering their hair or stopping themselves from zina because they would mess up at it, or feel embarrased - then this isn't really stopping yourself from the sin for the sake of Allaah Almighty, but instead - you're stopping yourself so you don't get embarrased. Therefore, you're not really doing it for the sake of Allaah Almighty, which means you may not get rewarded for it.

Sis Yes,that opinion of your's is true,because in Islam there're two different types of Jihad and Jihadul-Nafs(the Struggle against your own soul) is one of them.If your soul likes or desires something bad for Example:Looking at the opposite gender and if you refrain from that,then there's a greater reward for you since you overcame your own whims for the sake of Allah Ta'alla,but if you refrain from looking at the opposite gender,because you hate or despise women or men,then there's not really as much good in it,then the first,because you really didn't have to strive hard or work for the pleasure of Allah Ta'alla.For textual proof there's a Sahih(Authentic) Hadith in which the Prophet of Allah is reported to have said,"The Hell fire is surrounded by whims and desires,while Janaah is surrounded by strife and hardship."Basically meaning that the indivisual has to work or strive in order to attain Janaah and follow his own desires if he wants to end up in the hell fire.
