So one time my brother was acting really mean to me, like calling me a b*** and saying I'm like a whipping boy when I asked for advice in dealing with someone who makes fun of me and he started making these ridiculous accusations like I let people bully me on purpose or something and I'm a wimp. I was so mad at him that I went and ranted about him, like calling him a jerk to my friends or something for the way he was acting. Is this backbiting? I mean,he was being pretty unpleasant and I was just really angry, so did I backbite him?

Backbiting is a terrible sin, so learn to control your anger and hold your tongue. I understand your brother was mean to you, but be patient with him..argument are normal between siblings. However both of you should learn to speak to one another respectfully. Him calling you such names and ridiculing you is unacceptable, and you in turn speaking badly about him is also not good.
