In that case, you'll need a hell of a lot of those to make sufficient light for studying.

And as KAding said, doing that will most likely damage the environment more than help it.

ooohh our house was lit like a christmas tree you guys should've seen it!!...all the room lights were on,the tv,pc and laptop were running,we had some clothes in the washing machine and the tumble dryer,around about that time my sister put two slices of bread in the toaster....the gas heater was on...we could of done our share of saving energy by at least turning off the hair straightener that was on for 2 days with no one using it.........lol im just messing

I observed it ... LOL

it happened during Isha' prayertime.. so I was praying in the dark...

and it was raining heavily and I went to sleep for one hour after that...:nervous:

i dont know about other places... but in tropical countries... sleeping is blissful during raining time... especially on daytime...:nervous:

550MW Dip in Power Use for Earth Hour

PETALING JAYA: Electricity consumption dipped by some 550MW during Earth Hour on Saturday.

This, said Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) chief executive officer Datuk Seri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, was equivalent to the consumption of about 14,000,000 40-watt fluorescent bulbs.

"Everything went smoothly and we were able to respond to the slightly power demand without any operational glitches," he said in a press statement yesterday.

He was commenting on the hour-long lights-out campaign to create awareness on the need to combat global warming.

However, demand picked up rapidly at 9.30 pm to follow normal Saturday night pattern.

Many Malaysians joined the annual campaign, which began in Sydney in 2007, by switching off their lights for an hour from 8.30 pm.
