Effects of your Sins

"An example of a sign that Allah gives us is that, when we sin, we can see the effect in the way that other people behave with us. Or when we sin, we can see the effect in the way that our wealth decreases. These are signs of Allah (`azza wa jall) in us.

Sufyān ath-Thawrī used to say: "I can see the effect of my sins in the way my wife speaks to me."

And in another authentic narration, it's reported that Sufyān ath-Thawrī said: "I can see the effect of my sin in the way that my donkey behaves with me."

If your children are not obeying you, perhaps that is also a sign for you."
