Greetings is a manner to welcome someone wholeheartedly. Every society, community, and religion possess their own way to greet others. Greetings are also a source to welcome or give importance to someone and the biggest welcome could not be better than this that brother peace be upon you.
Islamic greeting is Salam and اسلام علیکم is the word which Muslims use to greet each other and its meaning is peace be upon you. Salam is a beauty of a Muslim environment it promotes peace and brotherhood among us. When we find a gathering of Muslims, we should greet Salam (اسلام علیکم) to them no matter we know them or not because are the words which carry immense significance and is a treasure of accumulating rewards of the hereafter. There are some etiquettes of Salam which every Muslim needs to learn and practice in the daily routine. Not only upon meeting we should also say Salam when departing each other’s company. It is a Sunnah of the Beloved Prophet and it is a summary of a blessed narration that whenever someone greet you with اسلام علیکم reply him back with equal or more better words.
