Since i have created a pig dna thread i guess i might as well create a thread on alcohol.

These maybe let all of us choose carefully in the intakes we put in or on our body. For the sake of healthier muslims all over the world and create the best ummah.

Kindly be reminded that our knowledge are just like a drop of seawater whereas the knowledge of Allah swt are more seawater in more worlds.

These are new research been published last year.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (Centre International de Recherche sur le Cancer) of the World Health Organization has classified alcohol as a Group 1 carcinogen. Its evaluation states, "There is sufficient evidence for the carcinogenicity of alcoholic beverages in humans. …Alcoholic beverages are carcinogenic to humans (Group 1)."[14]

JazaakiAllah khayr for sharing.

There is no other drug in the world that has the same devastating consequences, on self, family, and society as large, as alcohol does. Yet still, they will not ban it and are fumbling around in the dark without Allah's guidance changing recommendations at whim. First they say it's good for you, then they say it's not. The lastest is that you should not drink it for two days of the week:

Two drink-free days a week needed, MPs' report says

9 January 2012 Last updated at 00:10
By James Gallagher Health reporter, BBC News

People should have at least two days a week completely clear of alcohol, a group of MPs says.

It is one of the recommendations in a report by the Commons science and technology committee, which is calling for a review of all government guidelines on alcohol in the UK.

It says there are "sufficient concerns" about the recommendations on how much people should drink.

The report has been welcomed by charities and public health experts.

Rest of the story here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-16443240

They are only two sevenths of the way there.

^^^subhanallah that must be hard for alcohol drinker to follow which is two days free of alcohol. and they say they are not addicted to it. remind me of the smokers too huhu

Very true. Last year they said one glass of red wine per day is good for you.

Effect of alcohol to the drinker physic is not so dangerous like its effect to the drinker mental.

Practicing Muslims realize that the harm of alcohols prohibition
outweighs any benefit. But educating ourselves to the
beneficial properties without the alcohol content is
what we should study.

The active supplement that many studies list as
being beneficial is called Resveratrol. It can
be purchased in a supplement form without any
alcohol.

There is a substitute for every liquid medicine with alcohol. You have
to look for it. Every health store has an alternative. When time permits
get offline and visit a health store with your medicine and request
a non-alcoholic alternative.

(Lemsip is a brand of cold and flu remedies in Ireland, the United Kingdom,
Australia and New Zealand.)

(Lemsip is available in a variety ... in day and nighttime varieties, which contain alcohol and Acetaminophen which is used in the production of Methamphetamine)

If the substitute which does not contains alcohol is available, Muslims should avoid medicine that contains alcohol. However, if the substitute which does not contains alcohol is not available, Muslims are allowed to use medicine that contains alcohol only when really necessary.

i know, thats why i always look at the back to see. some people say its okay if it has alittle and some people say no..so i was just wondering..when i see it has i dont buy it nw but just wondered wot everyones take on it really.

Carefully reread the post.

The active beneficial property that science says is in wine is called Resveratrol.

In the natural herbal form it doesn't have alcohol in it.

We only highlighted that for every medicinal drug there is a
herbal equivalent. We are not promoting Resvertrol or any other
herbal supplement. That is for the individual to research and apply
what is best for their particular situation.

An unbiased view of Resvertrol is reviewed in the following report.
