Hello.

I feellost in life. I don't know what my purpose is. I feel as if there is a voidthat needs to be filled. But I don't know with what.

Bycoincidence I stumbled upon this book called "Secrets Of Divine Love"by A Helwa - after finishing it, it left quite a deep impression on me. I havenever really believed in God or anything, but this book made me more curiousabout God and Islam. At some parts in made me feel whole. At others emotional. It gave me hope that there might be something that could make me feel better.

Now, Ifeel lost and I don't know what to do. I wanted to know more about Islam so Itried to read the Koran but it's just hard. Hard as in that I don't understandmost of the context - the foot notes don't help. I don't know Arabic so I readthe English version by Abdel Haleem.

Myquestion are:

 1. Do you know any more books that are similar to "Secrets Of Divine Love" by A Helwa?
 2. Where do I continue my journey to learn more about God and then about Islam?
 3. As of now I don't feel like that there is a relationship with God. So how can I work on that? How can deepen it?

Also, notsure whether this is the right category to start this thread.

A good start would be to read the sirah of the prophet saws. I have a 3 book set at the house which I have not yet complete, but when I get home I’ll try to remember and post the one I have.

I like it because it continually references Quran verses throughout the book as it’s describing different events in the prophets life. Studying the prophets life will give you a better understanding of the Quran inshaAllah.

For your question "As of now I don't feel like that there is a relationship with God. So how can I work on that? How can deepen it?"

I just want to talk about my own experience with this. I speak to God from my heart all day long. I don't wait until I pray or something. I just directly speak to God. This really deepened my connection with God.
