Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
In The Footsteps of the Beloved
Annual Dinner hosted by Muslim Medics at Bart and The London Medical School.
Friday, April 25, 2008
Promises to be delightful evening with a 3 course meal included!
2 Talks:
====================================
The Walking Qur’an
"Our beloved Prophet Muhammad [SAW] was named, 'The Walking Qur’an', by his wife Aisha [RAA]. He [SAW] was a reflection of mercy, love and compassion. An example of all that the Qur’an came with, showing happiness for all that was good and loved by Allah [SWT].
'Verily Oh Muhammad, you are an exalted character'
[Al Qalam : 4]
We pray this talk, by SHAYKH ZAHIR MAHMOUD, fills your heart with love for Prophet Muhammad SAW and makes his blessed Sunnah second nature to your life. Ameen."
=====================================
Muslims in the NHS
"By the grace of Allah [SWT] the number of Muslims in the NHS is continually increasing and not surprisingly as the very foundations of the National Health Service strongly coincide with the Islamic belief. The NHS was formed on the basis of providing free healthcare to those who cannot afford it for themselves and has now grown to provide health care even to those who can afford it, often becoming a victim of its own success.
It is our pleasure to invite SHAYKH YUNUS DUDHWALA, a chaplain at Newham General Hospital and a pioneer of ‘Respect Hijab!’ to provide us with a greater insight into the issues that Muslims face whilst working in the NHS today. A topic that is interesting and very relevant!"
