Going on Holiday

Salams, I will be going on holiday for around 10 days. I believe it is Sunnah Mookadda to shorten prayers for e.g 4 rakats will be shorten down to 2 rakats. Is this correct? Does this apply to Farz only or Sunnah Mookadda and Nafl as well?

Also, do i only read Farz whilst on holiday?

Shortening the prayers applies to Fardh only, not to Sunnah.

It is allowed to pray only the Fardh prayers while travelling, but if you pray Sunnah as well, it will be rewarding :ia:.

How does one make Niyyat before shortening the prayer? Same as usual?
