Salaam.

So here's where you ask questions about the language, the people, why we love chappatis, and like to show off. And whatever else is on your mind regarding Gujarati's and their language.

Assalamu Alaikum

I am not Gujurati but I have a really good and Inshallah religious friend who is Gujurati and she and I get on really well!

Please do not get offended but I find your languauge, the way you speak rather difficult and I can not understand it!

No offence to the baruchi speaking gujarati's, but it sounds so weired, i have loads of bharuchi friends, and it's difficult for me to keep a straight face, while they say somthing in gujarati *the bharuchi one*(i end up laughing). It's all fun.:) Mind you they take mick out of my "better" guji.:okay:

:sl:

Yes, we (yes, I'm a guji) sure do, and it's different from "s". The only problem is that, apart from the guji 'ulamaa and those who've learnt Arabic through one means or another, most of the gujis back home pronounce it as "s" anyway!

:w:

A.
