Hadith about Marriage

I heard of a Hadith where it stayed that there are four reasons a man would marry a woman and that’s her beauty, her wealth, lineage and religious commitment.
Was this meant as a generalisation (as there are other reasons a man would marry a woman) and a statement of the times (as people no longer care so much about lineage) or was this meant as a kind of ruling?

This is not a relgious rulling. They are saying that these are the reasons men often marry women. However they said it is best to marry a women with religious commitment. Example, man married a beautiful women and comes home to find her painting her nails, make up, and focused soley on herself. If he married a pious wife, he comes home to find her cooking, cleaning, and taking care of children and not self serving.
