Let me give you some advice as a man who has nearly one and a half thousand posts of experience under his belt: if you see a post with any form of the word "Zionism" in it, stop reading immediately. In fact it's not a good idea just in general to listen to anyone who goes out of their way to blend their religion with their politics, is it?
No, Islam does not teach hatred toward Jews. Whoever it is you've been listening to, imagine that they were telling you exactly the equivalent about Judaism, that it taught hatred and condescension toward Gentiles. Only a lot of people do teach that, don't they. And how does it make you feel? Welcome to every single day in the life of a modern day Muslim. It's okay, though: you seem to have been just asking. The Qur'an teaches that all of humanity was made to serve God, and that all of humanity was made innocent, and that our different nations and tongues were created so that we could know each other and not so that we could hate each other.
When you say that you're "curious" about Islam, what does this mean? That you're looking into it? If not, could it be that some part of you is still maybe considering looking into it?
P.S. Though I really don't want to discuss it I am against...the Z-word...but not Jews. So, from what I can tell, is resident atheist Pygoscelis, who hardly ever talks about Judaism and seems completely indifferent toward it. People have different reasons for these things. I personally try to steer clear of politics whenever I can (although in my country the oppressive Christian Right very often won't let me).
