I just read your original post again and realized that you're from Texas. One of our beloved Admins on this forum - Uncle Woodrow - is also from Texas, white and a revert as well, so you're not alone on this forum so don't be scared :) He should be online again soon, Insha'Allaah and you can speak with him as well.

This just goes to show that Islam is the messenger of peace. I have never been so welcomed anywhere. Not even at a christian board.

A beauty of Islam is the equality of man before Allah that erases differences in race, social status, nationality, age, level of education. I am presently visiting Belgium and today I met a brother from the Ivory Coast (West Africa). Insha'Allah (Allah willing) tomorrow I will meet him for Jummu'ah (Friday congregational) prayer.

Yet another update :)

Talked with Brother Rasheed today for about 45 minutes at work. Next Wednesday I will make my first prayers publicly. I go in at 2pm for afternoon prayer.

Yes, I am 8th generation Texan. My family was one of the origonal settlers to move down here in the 1800s. We helped secure Texas' independance from Mexico in the Battle Of San Jacinto. I am very proud of my heritage and where I come from.

Welcome home. Yes you have returned home to where you have always belonged. You did not give up Christianity, you have accepted the true teachings of Isa(as) and will now embark on the path of learning more of him and to love him in the manner he deserves to be loved.

Up until last month I was an Austinite. I am now living in Minnesota and in the process of moving horses from Faith, South Dakota to Evansville, MN.

to answer your original question, yes us white Texans do get accepted as Brothers by our Brothers and Sisters in Islam.
