how important are ties of kinship?

Does husnand have the right to prevent his wife from speaking to her family? If he does then what of the rules of maintaining family ties? How will she be able to do this? If the wife is practising pious and very religious and is good with husband does he still have the right to stop her seeing her family? Why?

All which I can say is that, you should have strong ties between your family. Your parrents, etc. But of course ur husband is also important.
