how to purify the heart?

how does one go about purifying the heat from the sins that exist within it...for example if someone whats to avoid zina, etc they lower their gaze, but what about diseases of the heart that cannot be physically removed, such as hypocrisy, envy, etc...what does one do then?

by praying to allah tallah. by preserving the 5 times salaah. he is the only one who guides.
