Im from pakistan raised theren my whole life and did not even know about these till i started as ith islamic studies i never imagined id be maliki tb h i wasnt into having a seperate school of thought but now my soul wants maliki

It is better and easier to follow the school of thought of the scholars of your area as it will be much easier to consult them whenever needed. Being a Maliki in a Hanafi dominant area might raise confusion about you among your surroundings.
