Yesterday met a non muslim brother who said, That he chose this route as there was traffic on other road because of [Their festival] for 2 seconds I thought that this guy is going to wish me his festival, And In those 2 seconds I made decision that I will be wishing him back as it would get awkward. But he did not wished me allhamdullilah.

But now I am very sad thinking is my imaan that weak that I cannot handle such situation ? If he had wished me I would've committed this sin. That festival is related to their gods.

I asked allah for forgiveness and protection from kufr shirk. And protection from a test where my imaan is in danger.

Also is wishing non muslim festivals comes under any sort of kufr/shirk?

What should I do I am not feeling well and seems like I am overthinking about this.

It is forbidden to wish non-muslims on their celebrations as this is confirming the falsehood which they are on. But merely wishing them does not mean it is disbelief or apostasy (shirk).

Also avoid whispers and overthinking about it. Instead repent for the sins you have committed, return to Allah and you should not despair of Allah's Mercy, for the Mercy of Allah encompasses all things.

Narrated Ibn Mas`ud: A man kissed a woman (unlawfully) and then went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and informed him. Allah revealed: And offer prayers perfectly At the two ends of the day And in some hours of the night (i.e. the five compulsory prayers). Verily! good deeds remove (annul) the evil deeds (small sins) (11.114). The man asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), "Is it for me?" He said, "It is for all my followers."

Sahih al-Bukhari 526

As is evident from this Hadeeth, the consistent acts of goodness(worship) wipes out the small sins.
So dont overthink about such stuff. satan is living rent-free in your head and tries to sway your heart as much as he can.

As for deeds themselves, whatever is not put into action is not a sin by itself. Even more reason not to worry yourself.
And its evident from this Hadeeth that sins are written after a delay as Allah gives us a chance to repent, if we do, it is not written at all.

At-Tabaraani in Al-Mu’jam Al-Kabeer and Al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab Al-Eemaan reported from Abu Umaamah

said: “The angel on the left-hand side (who records sins) holds up his pen (refrains from writing down) for six hours after a Muslim commits a sin. If the person regrets it and asks Allah for forgiveness, he casts it aside (does not write it down); otherwise, it is written down as one (bad deed).

Amazing hadith. Really needed to hear this one. Thanks a lot for sharing! May Allah Reward you
