If you are a bad influence on others

If you do something that badly influences others e.g. you commit a sin and your younger brother sees it and does the same I heard that you also receive a sin if he does something bad as a result of your influence even after you die. Could someone clarify this? Also, what if the person influenced does not know it is a bad thing? Would the ruling apply then?
