I'm starting trouble again.

Not sure if many of you have facebook pages but i do, and I see there are thousands of Muslims on there and i am freinds with a few of them on there. The point is i posted on my wall to the moderators and they responded.

My post said that i was tired of the half naked women adds popping up on my page as well as others and it was a direct insult to my faith my wife and me! as well my wife gets half naked men posts or requests stating "meet new hotties in your area" or "look who's been checking you out". I told them that if they didn't stop i and 846 others would drop using the site(this number is growing every day) and file complaints. I understand it's a social network but not a brothel! or pornography advertising site.

Waiting for a response from them...

good luck with that.. I think realistically you need to install some software to ward off that-- I have my aol account on maximum security plus (which takes care of offensive words and their derivatives (use your imagination) and still receive at least three or four emails everyday, albeit they go into my spam folder but I still see them, and on occasion one escapes to my regular email..

There is one tight path that leads to Allah swt and many attractive detours and distractions along the way, so be steadfast on your journey pack light, do more but always desire less!!!

Facebook may not change its ways because of one complaint, but you could adjust your browser/computer to make the internet more enjoyable for you and your family.

If you wish, you can install parental control software on your computer. I deal with and usually recommend Computer Associates (Internet Security Suite).

The parental controls are very good and it also scans for virus, spyware, etc...

You can try net nanny or kidswatch, I haven't tried those myself but they've been around for a long time.

You can also try clearing the browser cache/cookies/history and in the options you should turn off banners and links from thrid party websites.

I desire less every day. I only desire strength in faith and more time with my wife and son. Therd are alot of distractions and detours, thats for sure.

i find it annoying too ''view sexy singles in your area'';D i think men will be more lured into it rather then women. but you cannot stop every single little temptation thats the truth:hmm: thats to be expected on face book and on most sites and its true its just pointless to complain about it as if they are going to care when like the whole world practically uses it if everyone complained then ya they would have to do something

ok unfortunatly i agree with cat eyes... i have it just for family... one thing i did do though is i set it to private and took my name off the search list and i also made it so only friends can see me and not even friends of friends. my facebook is for family only and a few close friends i have met over the years... usually we get online and play farmville.... (my husband makes fun of me to know end for that one) and the fishville one stuff like that... by setting it to private at least you wont have to worry about people viewing that you dont want...

I also do this, and I've never been bothered with such ads.

Basically go to your settings, click on privacy settings and applications settings, and then set your settings as restricted as you wish. But you need to go exhaustively on each of that profile settings, applications settings, search settings, etc.
