I think sending the troop's without any formal & strong communication with the variouse resistance will be detrimental to the Indonesian troops. As they do not trust foreign troops or their motives they might be seen as lackey's of the crusader's and hence be subject to attack. Or the crusaders very well might instigate one to seem it so.

It might very well be in the interest of the occupiers for such thing to happen, thus drawing in the indonesian troops in ther objective against the resistance.

Yes, the U.S. has secret "Crusader" plans to draw the mighty Indonesian armed forces into Iraq to be allies against the honorable Mujahadeen who fight for the innocent and the greater glory of Islam. ;D

I did not say U.S had a secret plan.
I am saying it is more likely will draw the indonesian into an already torn down conflict.

the idea of sending our troops is not an important topic anymore. we put it in the bottom list since it's better to keep our troops for humanitarian missions inside the country than sending them to a sectarian conflicts galore.

A very sensible post and very true. Now if we can only convince our congressmen of that. Looks like we will just have to keep voting them out of office as they come up for re-election. Takes awhile as only 1/3 come up for re-election every 2 years.

as far as i observe from our media, this issue is no more 'an issue'. almost 97 percent of our citizen know nothing about this, and this 'sending our troops somewhere in the middle of someone elses war' is hardly coming true.

we have too many small but potential conflicts in some regions namely poso, mataram, and aceh. and we have localized disasters such as gas pipes explosion and muds problem which would be responded by our soldier with noble humanitarian missions.

whatever comes true, Allah knows best. Salaam.
