Invasion has not changed the economy of Afghan

The illegal narcotics trade dominates Afghanistan's economy, accounting for 60 percent of its gross domestic product and 87 percent of the world's supply. Heroin and morphine are derived from opium, which comes from poppies. The invasion of Afghanistan by the allied forces and the subsequent occupation has not changed the economy of the country. Rather plunged into deep sin and poverty.

The pictures below show the Afghan farmers (men and women) work in a poppy plantation in a village outside Balkh province, about 500 km (310 miles) north of Kabul. (Source: Reuters May 6, 2006).

Dear god... what has happened.. i think the poopy plantation and export has double or tripled after the war...something i read awhile back.. so sad to look at our brothers and sister have to resort to something like this..

What else do they have :'( Allah make their lives easy for them WalaykumAsalaam x

they are other things they can plant.. why go for poppies even though its a lucarative business.. someone has to tell them that....
