Is asking help for schoolwork or any favors or helping someone to do something when they ask for favors or say please allowed in Islam.

Of course. There's an example of that in the Qur'an (I believe it's in surah Ta Ha). At the burning bush, Moses asks God to allow his brother Aaron to help him and God approved of it. Both of them went to Egypt to rescue the Israelites.

Why would it not be allowed?, unless you are asking the person to do something that is contrary to the Religion, then there is no issue.
