No it is not. It is not your fault that someone secretly reads your notebook....unless of course you leave it in the open deliberately for the others to read.Probably is if someone reads it off your notebook. Besides you shouldn't be thinking bad about people without justification...
I think you're just overthinking brother
Is it backbiting if I talk about another person to myself/write it to myself in a notebook for example?
to a certain degree of course. if you did try your best to keep the secret safe...and someone is actively and deliberately has been looking for it...then you cannot be fully blamed of course...what are you supposed to do? keep it in a safe?Asalaamualaykum:
It wont be considered as backbiting should you write the event in a book and retain the book. In backbiting there has to be an audience or another party as such.
However - it won't be wise to do such a thing as you cannot guarantee the total secrecy and privacy of the book. If someone else reads it then you become accountable for the lack of safe guarding the property.
I mean I won't dislike someone without that person making me dislike them. But yeah I see your point.Probably is if someone reads it off your notebook. Besides you shouldn't be thinking bad about people without justification...

But yes, wise is not to write it down and try not to think about it...but if writing it down really calms you down, and you can write the pressure off...and you can keep it in a place where you can be pretty sure no one finds and reads it...then it shouldn't be much of a problem.
