is it haram to discuss about different religions with my non-muslim friends?

for example im on discord in call with my non-muslim friends, and some part of me wants me to try and see if i can make my friend convert to islam. i dont discuss with my friends about religions because it creates lot of controversy and im scared i might even lose them since i've been friends with them for as long as i remember. but this question has been living in my head rent free. and i just wanna know *at least* if it is haram to discuss with my friends about different religions
 
i dont think so if its in an effort to lead the topic towards Islam. Ask your Imam but Allahu Alam.
