i think going on the internet to find out if its haram will give you very biased views lol.

i don't think so that there is any issue in using internet. it depends on you that for which purpose you are using it. if you are using just for listening songs, and making friends in facebook then of course it is haram, but if you are taking knowledge of islam and taking help for your job then it is permissible for you.

Anything and everything can be bad or good. It is about HOW you use it. Do you use the internet to stay in touch with distant friends/relatives, keep up with the news,sports,weather or searching for educational information or do you use it to watch bad things, harass people, or waste time??
