Is this ok?

Is it ok to say Allah is the author of this story, as in life is the story and Allah is the author, but not as in we are in literally a book. Just an analogy, it seems to help me understand Allah more.

We ourselves make the choices by free will, but Allaah Knows the choices we will make. How does this make Allaah the author?
